GoBalto inks deal with INC for trial software

Fresh off raising $12 million in Series B financing, goBalto has lured a major CRO with its cloud-based clinical development platform, signing a deal with INC Research.

INC will use Tracker, goBalto's web-based program that allows sponsors and CROs to monitor and collaborate on study results. For INC, the software will be particularly helpful in tracking and managing clinical trial sites, COO Alistair Macdonald said.

"We chose goBalto Tracker as part of our study startup solution because it offers enhanced visibility into the traditionally cumbersome process of activating sites for clinical trials," Macdonald said in a statement. "The system creates efficiencies through streamlined communication among sites, sponsors and CROs. This ultimately drives shorter timelines and cost savings for our customers."

The San Francisco-based goBalto is working to expand Tracker's presence in the industry, touting its software as a transparent, regulatory-compliant and user-friendly way for sponsors and researchers to collaborate on data. "The clinical research industry still has to make do with decade-old legacy solutions," CEO Jae Chung has said, and the company's software meets a global demand for an accelerated path to get therapies on the market.

To date, goBalto has raised $21 million from the likes of Qualcomm Life Fund, Aberdare Ventures, West Health Investment Fund and the global investment arm of Singapore's Economic Development Board.
